Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Lori Braunstein #32820 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles
Strong Start Fuels Runner-Up Age-Group Finish Lori Braunstein, 55, of Aurora, CO, finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 54:17, placing second in the F55-59 division. She opened at a brisk 7:44 pace through the first mile and held near 7:45-8:00 pace through the first three miles before a steady mile-by-mile easing over the back half, with her final mile landing at 10:29 as she closed out the race. Her opening two miles, covered in roughly 15:30, stood out as the fastest sustained stretch of her race, set at Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet. Given that early pace, holding a touch more of it into the middle miles could be a useful target for her next 10K.
