He opened with his fastest running of the race, covering the first two miles in 13:00 (6:30/mile pace), then settled into a steady rhythm through the middle miles before easing back over the closing stretch. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Adair's early pace set up a solid overall result, with the final mile coming in as his slowest of the day. A touch more even pacing through the back half could help him hold that early speed longer next time.
