The time sits between his two previous Boulderthon 10Ks faster than his 40:58 in 2024, though just off his 39:57 in 2025. Mack ran the first five miles in a tight band between 6:00 and 6:39 per mile, holding an elapsed pace of 6:20 by mile five before easing to a 7:42 final split. That opening stretch, covering the first five miles at altitude in Boulder a city sitting above 5,000 feet was the strongest portion of his race, and a touch more evenness through the closing mile could bring next years Boulderthon time even closer to his 2025 mark.
