Strong Start Fades Late in Boulder 10K Farah Girard finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:04:35, covering the 6.2-mile course through downtown Boulder at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Her race split cleanly into two phases: a brisk opening three miles at roughly a 9:44 min/mile pace, followed by a second half that eased to a 10:24 min/mile overall pace by the finish. That opening 5K was the highlight, with Girard holding steady between 9:40 and 9:49 per mile through the first three miles. The final three miles cooled considerably, including an 11:34 split over the last mile. Given the consistency of that early pace, there may be room to carry more of that rhythm into the closing miles next time out.
