Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Gemma Gallaher #30740 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Strong Start Fuels a Steady 10K Finish Gemma Gallaher covered the 10K in 1:03:50, opening with back-to-back miles at 9:57 pace before easing through the middle of the course. Her sharpest mile came late, a 9:42 split at mile five, marking the fastest mile of her race before the pace settled again over the final stretch to the finish. Racing in her hometown, Gallaher took on a course that starts near downtown Boulder, sitting above 5,000 feet of elevation, a city recognized by National Geographic as the Happiest City in America. Her even effort across the back half suggests a runner comfortable pushing through the later miles; a touch more consistency between miles three and four could help smooth out the overall pace next time.
