Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Amy Lau #31920 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Strong Start Fuels Steady 10K Finish Amy Lau finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 57:16, good for 193rd among women in a field of 3,071. Her opening mile was her fastest of the race at 8:24, and she built a comfortable cushion before the pace gradually eased each mile thereafter, closing with a 10:38 final mile as cumulative pace drifted from 8:24 to 9:14 per mile. That early speed, banked at over 5,000 feet of elevation in Boulder, gave her room to absorb the late fade without losing overall rhythm. Given how well the front half went, Lau might look at holding a touch more in reserve through the middle miles next time to keep the closing pace closer to her opening one.
