Strong Start Fades Through the Back Half Emily Baldridge completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:03:40. Her race opened fast and cooled steadily: an 8:04 opening mile was her quickest of the day, and each subsequent mile slipped a bit further, closing with a 12:25 final mile as fatigue set in over the back half. That opening mile stands out as the clear highlight of her race, showing she has the turnover to move well early. The steady mile-by-mile decline suggests an opportunity to work on pacing evenness in future 10Ksstarting a touch more conservatively could help preserve strength for the closing miles. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds context to any Colorado Springs runner's effort here, and Emily's ability to complete the distance under those conditions is a solid foundation to build on for next time.
