Strong Pace Holds Firm for a Top-45 Overall Finish David Ortiz crossed the line in 42:54, placing 45th overall and 31st among men in a field of 3,071 good for third in the men's 25-29 division. His race built steadily through the middle miles, holding in the 6:20s to 6:40s cumulative pace before easing slightly over the final stretch. His fastest mile came right out of the gate, a 6:11 opening split that set the tone for the rest of the effort. Miles two through five stayed consistent in the 6:35-7:16 range, showing a controlled, well-paced approach across the 10K distance. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Ortiz's ability to sustain sub-7:00 pace for the majority of the race speaks to strong overall execution. Maintaining that early rhythm through the closing miles could be a point of focus for future races.
