Steady Pace Powers a Strong 10K Debut Performance Joel Ferst ran the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 48:10, an average pace of 7:46 per mile, placing 121st overall out of the field of 3,071 and 87th among men. This marks a significant jump in per-mile pace from his 2025 Boulderthon Half Marathon, where he finished in 2:09:43 at 9:54 per mile. Ferst opened briskly, covering the first mile in 7:26, and held closely to that rhythm through mile three at 22:36. His strongest sustained mile came between miles four and five, clocking 7:32 despite a slight dip in mile four to 8:08. He finished with a final mile at 8:18, closing out the race in downtown Boulder on the historic Pearl Street Mall, a fitting finish given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet.
