Steady Pace Through the Field, Capped by a Standout Fifth Mile Lillie Brauns finished the 10K at the 2026 Boulderthon in 59:57. Her mile splits climbed gradually from 9:24 through the first mile to 10:02 by mile four as cumulative pace eased from 9:24 to 9:44 min/mile, before a strong fifth mile of 8:54 min/mile pulled her overall pace back down to 9:34. The final mile settled at 10:13, closing out the race at a 9:40 min/mile overall pace. Running at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet, Brauns' fifth-mile surge stands as the highlight of her race, a full 48 seconds faster than her next-best split. Tightening the gap between her early and late-race pace could be a worthwhile focus for her next 10K.
