Strong Start Fades Late but Finishes Steady Malcolm Craig completed the 10K in 56:44, an overall pace of 9:09 per mile. He opened fast, covering the first two miles in 16:04 (8:02 min/mile pace), then eased through the middle miles before closing out the final stretch. The early two-mile stretch stood as the highlight of the race, with Craig holding sub-8:05 pace before the effort settled into the 9:0010:00 range for the remainder. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Craig's disciplined opening set a solid foundation for the rest of the course.
