Steady Miles Build a Solid 10K Finish Steven Sanchez completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 57:34, an average pace of 9:17 per mile. His race settled into rhythm early: after a 9:21 opening mile, he ran miles two through five between 8:53 and 8:59, holding his cumulative pace near 9:00 per mile through the middle of the course. That four-mile stretch from mile 1 to mile 5 was his standout segment, covering four miles in just under 36 minutes at a consistent effort before the final mile eased to 10:30. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Sanchez's ability to hold sub-9:00 pace for the bulk of the distance reflects well on his pacing discipline, and a touch more reserve for the closing mile could help him carry that middle-mile strength all the way to the line next time.
