Fast Opening Mile Anchors a Steady 10K Anna Kretzer finished the 10K in 55:57, her cumulative pace tracking a gradual rise from an 8:05 pace at the two-mile mark to 8:59 by the close. Her opening mile was the standout stretch of the race, a brisk 7:59 that was faster than anything that followed. The middle miles held in a tighter band, mostly between 8:58 and 9:13, before the closing mile eased to 10:35 as she made her way toward the finish. Racing at altitude in a city that sits over 5,000 feet, Kretzer's effort held together well across the distance before concluding on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, the finish line shared by every distance in the race.
