Strong Start Fuels Steady 10K Finish Jessica Hensley completed the 10K in 1:00:31, an overall pace of 9:45 per mile. Her race opened with its best running: the first two miles clicked off in 9:01 and 8:54, the fastest mile-plus stretch of her day. From there, cumulative pace drifted gradually from 8:57 to 9:44 by the finish, as the middle miles settled into the 9:3010:00 range. That early rhythm carried her into the final stretch on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting close to a race run above 5,000 feet of elevation. Given the strong opening pace, working to hold that rhythm through the closing miles could be a useful focus for next time.
