Steady Pacing Through the Rockies Highlights a Solid 10K Carole Samson covered the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:09:25, holding a rhythm in the 10:40s per mile for most of the race before a slower final mile brought her overall pace to 11:11/mile. Her middle miles were her most consistent, with mile 5 standing out as her fastest full mile at 10:41, coming right after a slight dip through miles 3 and 4. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Samsons early pacing through the first two mileseach right around 10:42reflected strong control before the courses natural fatigue crept in later. Tightening that final mile could help her carry more of that early strength to the finish next time.
