Steady Negative Split Powers 10K Finish Lila Goddard-Vaughan completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:00:46, an overall pace of 9:48 per mile. Her race built steadily from a 10:24 opening mile down to a strong closing mile of 9:09, showing consistent gains in pace as the race progressed. Miles 5 and 6 stood out as her fastest stretch, dropping to 9:32 and 9:09 respectively, a clear surge in the second half of the race. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Goddard-Vaughan's ability to accelerate late speaks well of her pacing strategy and fitness. Rather than fading, she used the final two miles to erase early deficits, a pattern worth building on. Maintaining that same disciplined build from the start could shave additional time off future 10K efforts.
