Steady Start Gives Way to a Gradual Fade Over 10K Maria Trujillo finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:16:52. Her race followed a clear pattern: she opened with her fastest mile in 11:03, then eased through the middle miles before slowing further over the final two miles, closing in 14:54 for the last mile. That opening mile stood as the strongest stretch of her race, more than three minutes quicker than her closing mile. Boulder's elevation, sitting above 5,000 feet, adds context to any pacing shift across a race like this one. Trujillo might consider working on maintaining a more even effort across the back half in future 10Ks, though her ability to hold a strong opening pace shows solid early race execution.
