Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: April Ruiz #31244 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Steady Start Fuels a Determined 10K Finish April Ruiz completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:22:51, an overall pace of 13:21 per mile. Her race followed a gradual slowdown across the six miles, opening with her fastest mile at 10:54 before easing through the middle miles and closing with a 16:21 final mile. That opening mile stands out as the strongest stretch of her race, run nearly two and a half minutes faster than her overall pace. Boulders elevation, over 5,000 feet, adds context to the effort required to sustain that early rhythm. Ruizs race ended, as all Boulderthon distances do, on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder a fitting finish line after a well-paced early push through the course.
