Fast Start Carries Into a Tougher Final Mile Sam Mello finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 57:25, a shift from her 2025 Boulderthon Marathon finish of 3:50:14. Her opening mile was her quickest of the day at 8:11, and she held a cumulative pace near 8:14 through two miles before the pace gradually eased, closing with an 11:09 final mile that pulled her overall pace to 9:15. The 10K stepped off at 8:10 AM, later in the morning than her marathon start the year before, in a city that sits over 5,000 feet in elevation. Like every Boulderthon distance, her race ended on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting cap to a race defined by an efficient early pace before the late fade.
