Steady Early Pace Gives Way Late in 10K Effort Israel Gutierrez completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 55:32, finishing 246th among men and 57th in the 30-34 age group. His race opened strong, with the first two miles ticking off at an 8:20 pace, the fastest sustained stretch of his day. From there, the pace eased gradually, settling into the high 8:30s through mile five before the final mile slowed to 10:26, the softest mile of the race. Racing at altitude in Boulder, over 5,000 feet above sea level, Gutierrezs early rhythm reflected sound pacing discipline before the elevation and distance combined late. With the 10K field starting at 8:10 AM, he can look to that opening two-mile clip as the template to extend deeper into future 10Ks.
