Fast Start Fades Late as Pace Steadily Slips Over Final Miles Andre Silva finished the 10K in 54:16, off his 51:23 from 2024 and 50:47 from 2025 at this race, and placed 8th in the M45-49 division. The race opened strong, with splits of 7:37 and 7:27 for the first two miles, good enough to sit among the race's quicker paces at that point. From there, each mile ticked progressively slower 8:27, 8:51, 9:01, and finally 10:54 to close pulling the overall elapsed pace from 7:32 min/mile at the midpoint out to 8:45 min/mile at the finish. That opening two-mile stretch stands as the highlight of the day, well ahead of the pace that followed. Racing in a city that sits over 5,000 feet, Silva may find value in working on sustaining that early rhythm deeper into the back half next time out.
