Strong Start Fuels Top-20 Finish at Altitude Ashlie Klavon finished her 10K in 44:27 (7:10 min/mile pace), placing 67th overall out of 3,071 in the field and 18th among women, with a runner-up finish in the F35-39 division. Klavon opened fast, clocking a 6:33 first mile that proved the quickest stretch of her race. She settled into a steady rhythm through the middle miles, holding paces between 6:50 and 7:13, before easing in the final mile with an 8:27 split. Her overall pace held strong at 7:10 min/mile despite the elevation in Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet. Given the strength of her early miles, she might consider a touch more even pacing in the closing stretch to carry that opening speed further into the race.
