Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Beau Beck #30743 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Steady Pace Through a High-Altitude 10K Beau Beck finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:01:47, an average pace of 9:58 per mile, placing 18th in the men's 55-59 division. Beck opened strong, covering his first mile in 9:14, the fastest stretch of his race, before settling into a steadier rhythm through the middle miles. His pace eased gradually thereafter, with the final mile ticking to 10:58 as cumulative pace drifted from 9:14 to 9:58 by the finish. That late softening is a common pattern in races that end atop Boulder's elevation, over a mile high, and Beck can take satisfaction in a race capped off with a finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. A touch more evenness between the middle and closing miles could be a good target for his next 10K.
