Steady Miles Give Way to a Strong Finishing Kick Sam Limbrey covered the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 58:41, an average pace of 9:28 per mile. His race built through the middle miles, dropping from 9:19 in the opening mile to a race-best 8:50 by mile three, before easing back through miles four and five and closing with an 11:00 final mile into downtown Boulder. That third mile, covering some of Boulder's terrain at more than a mile above sea level, stood as his fastest of the day and anchored a race that trended quicker through its first half before settling into the closing stretch on the Pearl Street Mall. With no prior Boulderthon results on file for comparison, this run offers a clean baseline for future editions, and Sam may find that sustaining that early-middle rhythm through the final miles offers room to build a faster overall time next time out.
