Steady Pace Carries Him Through Boulder's 10K Christian Hernandez completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:02:53. His mile splits held in a tight band through the first four miles, settling around 10:10 per mile, before a notable pickup at mile five, clocked in 9:24 his fastest mile of the race. The final mile eased back to 10:43 as he crossed the finish in downtown Boulder on the Pearl Street Mall. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Hernandez maintained consistent pacing across the 10K distance, with his elapsed pace never drifting far from 10:10 per mile until that fifth-mile surge. That mile stands as the clear highlight of his race, showing a strong finishing kick before the final stretch settled back to a more moderate effort.
