Steady Mid-Race Surge Powers Strong 10K Finish Randal Los finished the 10K in 1:07:33, an average pace of 10:53 per mile. After opening in 11:21, he steadily sharpened his pace through the middle miles, dropping to 10:24, 10:41, 10:39, and a race-best 10:09 in mile five before easing back in the final mile to close out the course. Racing at altitude in Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet, Los showed his strongest running in the middle stretch of the course, particularly across miles two through five, where his pace tightened compared to the opening and closing miles. That sustained mid-race effort suggests room to experiment with a more even pacing strategy in future 10Ks, easing off the early miles slightly to preserve more strength for the finish.
