Strong Middle Mile Powers a Solid 5K Finish Kimberlee Mckee, 54, of Longmont, completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 29:14, an average pace of 9:25 per mile. She finished 5th in the F 50-54 division out of the field of 2,677. Mckee's race built steadily through the middle before tapering late. Her opening mile came in at 9:35, then she surged to an 8:13 second mileher fastest of the racebefore settling into a 10:23 closing mile. That middle-mile push stands out as the highlight of her effort, showing a strong gear shift at altitude in Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet. A touch more evenness between the first and third miles could help her carry that mid-race strength all the way to the line next time.
