Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Cameran Owens #32441 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Fast Start Anchors a Top-Ten-Percent Finish Cameran Owens finished 178th overall and 53rd among women in the 10K, out of a field of 3,071, crossing in 50:29. She went out quickly, covering the first mile in 7:06, then settled into a steady rhythm as her cumulative pace eased to 7:50 through the middle miles. A strong fifth mile, run in 7:38, sharpened that pace back down before the final mile slowed to 9:50, closing her race at an overall 8:08 per mile. Racing at altitude over 5,000 feet, Owens banked her quickest mile right from the gun and used that early speed to carry her through to the finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. A touch more evenness across the middle miles could help her close as strongly as she started.
