Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: David Behrendt #30581 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Strong Start Fades Steadily Over the 10K David Behrendt covered the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 52:29. His opening mile was his fastest of the day at 7:19, and each subsequent mile ticked slower, cumulative pace easing from 7:19 through the halfway point near 7:55 to 8:27 by the finish. The closing mile, split in 9:36, marked the race's slowest stretch, a clear step down from the tempo he carried through the first three miles. Racing through downtown Boulder, sitting at over 5,000 feet of elevation, Behrendt's early pace reflected a confident push before the steady late fade. With his fastest ground covered in mile one, a touch more evenness across the back half could help him carry that opening speed further into future 10Ks.
