Strong Early Rhythm Gives Way to a Tougher Final Mile Steve Forgo finished the 10K in 49:59, moving through 3,071 in the field. His race showed a steady early rhythm, clicking off the first three miles between 7:41 and 7:47 pace before a modest dip to 8:10 in mile four. He recovered sharply in mile five, matching his early tempo at 7:42, before the final mile slowed to 9:30 as the finish neared. His fastest mile of the day came in mile two, at 7:41 pace, part of a strong stretch through the first three miles that anchored his overall time. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Forgo's early consistency stood out as the most efficient portion of his run, even as the closing mile cost him some of that momentum.
