Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Sophia Buhr #30980 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Strong Pace Held Until Late Fade Sophia Buhr crossed the finish in 53:38, placing 295th overall and 98th among female finishers, putting her inside the top 10% of the field. Through the first five miles she was remarkably even, holding between 8:09 and 8:22 per mile, before the pace eased in the closing stretch of the race. That final full mile slowed to 10:15, the clearest shift in tempo of the day, following four miles that averaged close to 8:15. The consistency of that earlier stretch stands out given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, a demanding backdrop for holding sub-8:20 miles. Sophia could look to carry that early rhythm a bit further into the race next time out.
