Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Ivan Montes #32386 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Even Pace Carries Steady Finish Downtown Ivan Montes covered the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 58:26. He opened with a 9:40 first mile, tightened to 9:27 by mile two, then closed out with back-to-back miles in the 9:129:14 range through miles five and six his fastest full-mile stretch of the day and a sign of a runner finishing stronger than he started. That final surge came as Montes made his way toward the historic Pearl Street Mall, where every Boulderthon distance concludes in downtown Boulder. Running the full 6.2 miles at more than 5,000 feet of elevation, holding pace steady across the back half is a solid marker to build from for next time.
