Strong Mid-Race Surge Powers Steady 10K Finish Jane Tucker completed the 10K in 53:52, an 8:41 min/mile pace, finishing 305th overall out of the field of 3,071. Her pacing held steady through the first four miles, settling in the high 8:30s to high 8:40s, before a strong fifth mile of 7:52 pushed her overall pace to its fastest point of the race. The final mile eased to 9:16 as she closed out the course in downtown Boulder, a city sitting at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Given the strength of that fifth-mile split, Jane might consider working on sustaining that faster rhythm a bit longer in future races to carry more of that momentum through to the finish.
