Strong Start Fuels a Steady 10K Finish Waverly Reeves completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:01:33. Her race built early: after opening in 9:23, she clicked off her fastest mile of the day in mile two at 9:03, pushing her cumulative pace down to 9:12 per mile. From there, the pace eased gradually through miles three and four, settled around 9:53 in mile five, and closed with an 11:11 final mile as she crossed the line in downtown Boulder. Running at Boulders altitude of over 5,000 feet, Reeves second mile stood out as the highlight of her race, the one true accelerative stretch amid an otherwise gradually decelerating pace. With no prior Boulderthon results on record, this run establishes a first benchmark and that early speed suggests a solid foundation to build pacing strategy around for next time.
