Strong Mid-Race Surge Powers Steady 10K Finish Jaqueline Helguera completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:03:01, an average pace of 10:09 per mile. Her race built steadily through the middle miles, dropping from 10:07 cumulative at mile four to 9:57 by mile five, before easing back over the final stretch. Her strongest mile came between miles four and five, clocked at 9:20, the fastest mile of her race and a clear high point in an otherwise consistent effort. Finishing at 5,000-plus feet of elevation in Boulder, Helguera's pacing held remarkably even across the first four miles, each falling within a tight 10:0510:23 range. That control set up her fifth-mile push before a final mile that slowed to 11:15, a natural settling point after the faster surge that preceded it.
