Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Stevan Gess #32283 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Fast Start Fades Into a Steady Finish Stevan Gess completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 58:10, an average pace of 9:22 per mile. He opened strong, covering the first two miles in 8:24 and 8:25, before easing through the middle miles at 9:22, 9:45, and 9:14, then closing with an 11:02 final mile as the pace settled further. That opening pair of miles stands as the fastest stretch of his race, more than a minute per mile quicker than his closing mile. Given that steady erosion across the back half, targeting a more even pace from mile three onward could help him hold closer to that early rhythm through the finish on the Pearl Street Mall, itself over a mile high in elevation.
