Her pace built steadily across the race, climbing from 5:42 at mile one to 6:29 by the finish as the effort accumulated. Her opening two miles were the highlight, covered in 11:39 for a 5:49 per-mile pace, the fastest sustained stretch of her race before settling into the back half. That kind of early pace at Boulder's 5,000-plus feet of elevation reflects strong senses of pacing and effort management. A touch more evenness between the early miles and the closing stretch could help her carry that early speed further into the race next time.
