Steady Start Gives Way to a Determined Closing Stretch Chase Spath finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:00:53. He moved through the opening mile in 9:19, held between 9:01 and 9:47 per mile through the middle of the race, then eased to an 11:17 mile to close things out, settling his overall pace at 9:49 per mile. Spath's strongest mile-plus stretch came early, covering the first two miles in roughly 18:20, a pace near 9:10 per mile. Racing through downtown Boulder, which sits over 5,000 feet in elevation, adds context to that opening effort. With his foundation set in the early miles, he has a clear target for his next 10K: carrying that early rhythm further into the back half of the course.
