Big Drop in Time Fuels Top-10% Finish Fernando Flores crossed the 10K line in 50:59, placing 195th overall and 131st among men out of the field of 3,071. That result marks a sharp improvement from his previous Boulderthon 10K, where he finished in 1:03:20. Flores built his race steadily, moving from an 8:33 opening mile down through the 8:148:25 range before hitting his fastest mile, a 7:28 split from mile 4 to 5. The final mile slowed to 8:56, but his overall pace held at 8:13 per mile. The race, like all Boulderthon distances, finished on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting close to a run completed at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
