Steady Start Fuels a Strong 10K Finish John Pacheco completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:11:13, an effort shaped by a fast opening mile and a gradual settling of pace over the back half of the race. Pacheco's first mile was his quickest, clocking 10:25, before his cumulative pace eased steadily through the middle miles, reaching 11:31 min/mile by the finish. His strongest stretch came over the opening two miles, covered in 21:00, reflecting a confident start on a course that finishes on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, that early pace stands out as a highlight of the race. Maintaining a bit more of that early rhythm through the middle miles could be a useful focus for future 10Ks.
