Her early miles were her strongest stretch: the opening 5K split at 25:16 (8:25 per-mile average) was the fastest cumulative pace of her race, built on a steady 8:148:23 opening pair. Mile 4 slowed to 8:58 before she rebounded with an 8:03 fifth mile, the quickest of the day, before easing through the finish in downtown Boulder. Given Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet, that kind of pace control across the middle miles is a good sign for her endurance work.
