Nearly 25 Minutes Faster: A Breakthrough 10K Colin Murphy finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 49:21, placing 148th overall and 105th among men in a field of 3,071 a dramatic leap from his previous 10K here, where he crossed in 1:14:06. That's a 24-minute-45-second improvement on the same course. Murphy went out fast, opening with back-to-back 7:12 miles, the quickest stretch of his race. From there his pace eased steadily 7:35, 7:56, 7:50 before a final mile that slowed to 9:48 as he approached the Pearl Street Mall finish. Given that Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, holding sub-7:35 pace through the middle miles stands out. Consider building strength for that closing mile to match the strong early tempo next time out.
