Steady Pace Through a Mile-High 10K Corina Koeneke covered the Boulderthon 10K in 57:44, an average pace of 9:18 per mile. She opened strong, clicking off her first three miles in 27:04 a 9:01 per-mile pace that stands as the fastest 5K stretch of her race. A slower fourth mile (9:36) briefly interrupted the rhythm before she rebounded with a 9:02 fifth mile, showing good recovery mid-race. The final mile eased to 10:16, a reasonable settling pace to close out the distance. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Koeneke's ability to hold sub-9:20 pacing across five of six miles reflects strong pacing control. If there's one area to sharpen, it would be sustaining that early rhythm into the final mile but overall, this was a well-managed, consistent run from start to finish.
