Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Kathleen Cuevas #32586 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Steady Early Pace Anchors a Solid 10K Finish Kathleen Cuevas covered the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:02:40, an average pace of 10:06 per mile. Her race built from a strong opening: the first three miles clicked by at a consistent 9:329:34 pace, the fastest stretch of her day, before easing through miles four and five in the 9:4710:21 range. The final mile slowed to 11:42, closing out the effort. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds a layer of difficulty to any pace, and Cuevas's opening three miles held remarkably even splits despite that backdrop. With her overall pacing settling near 10:06 per mile by the finish, there may be an opportunity to work on sustaining that early rhythm through the closing miles in future races.
