Big Improvement Fuels a Strong 10K Finish Caden English ran the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:01:01, a sizable improvement over his previous finish at the same event in 1:07:25 more than six minutes faster. His race built steadily: an opening mile at 10:16 gave way to a slower third mile at 11:01, before he turned the back half into his strongest running of the day, dropping to 9:46, then 8:33 for his fastest mile of the race, and closing with a 9:21. That final stretch carried him through the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a finish shared by all Boulderthon distances and set at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Given that context, the closing miles stand out as a strong finishing kick rather than a fade, and there's room to explore starting closer to that late-race rhythm next time.
