Steady Pace Secures Runner-Up Age-Group Finish Laura Kennedy ran the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 54:49, an 8:50 min/mile pace, finishing second in the F65-69 division. Her mile splits held in a tight band through the middle miles 8:26, 8:24, 8:52, 9:03 before she clicked off her fastest mile of the day at 8:22 in mile five, pulling her overall pace back down before the finish. Kennedy's previous Boulderthon appearance came in the 2023 Half Marathon, where she covered 13.1 miles at an 8:09 min/mile pace. That was a longer distance at a quicker per-mile clip, showing a different pacing strategy suited to each race length. This 10K, run at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, closed with a final mile that, while her slowest of the day, still kept her firmly in podium position for her age group.
