Strong Start Fuels a Steady Finish Through Downtown Boulder Jeffrey Francis crossed the 10K finish line in 1:00:12, closing out his race with a 9:42 min/mile overall pace. His race unfolded with an early surge and a gradual fade after opening with a brisk 8:40 mile, his pace eased steadily across the middle miles before settling into the final stretch. That opening mile stood as the highlight of the day, clocking in nearly a minute faster than his overall pace and setting the tone for a race that tested endurance over the full 6.2 miles. Francis's effort carried him through downtown Boulder to the finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall, a fitting cap to a course run at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
