Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Louis Zhang #40175 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers Solid 5K Finish Louis Zhang finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 23:37, covering the course at a 7:37 min/mile pace. His race built steadily before fading slightly at the end. The opening mile came in at 7:28, then Zhang surged to his fastest mile of the day, a 6:47 split, before easing to an 8:41 close. That middle mile stood out as his best stretch of the race. Racing through downtown Boulder, which sits at over 5,000 feet of elevation, Zhang's pacing pattern showed a runner willing to push once warmed up, a quality worth building on with a more even final mile in future 5Ks.
