Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Mamoru Nagano #41385 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fastest Finish Yet Over 5K Mamoru Nagano clocked 28:28 in the 5K, his quickest Boulderthon finish across three appearances, improving on 29:27 in 2024 and 28:51 in 2025. His pace built well through the race: a strong opening mile in 8:40 gave way to an even faster second mile at 8:04, his best stretch of the day, before easing to 10:39 over the closing mile. That early rhythm was the difference-maker in setting his fastest Boulderthon time, run at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet. With the front two miles dialed in, a touch more evenness through the final stretch could help him carry that pace all the way to the Pearl Street Mall finish next time.
