Steady 5K Effort Highlighted by a Strong Second Mile Adrian Gorica finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 26:07, just seven seconds off his 26:00 result from the 2025 race. His opening mile came in at 8:58, before he surged to a 7:22 second mile, his fastest stretch of the race. The third mile settled back to 8:59, closing out a race that showed a clear mid-race gear shift. Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, adds context to any pace run on these downtown streets. Gorica's race concluded on the Pearl Street Mall, the finish line shared by every distance in the event. With splits from 375th overall in the field to 249th by the final mile, his day showed real acceleration through the middle of the course before settling into the finish.
